6 Customer Service Rules to Follow Every Time

It disturbs me that some companies are putting folk ‘in charge’ of Twitter and Facebook without a fully written strategy or guidelines. It also disturbs me that customer facing social accounts are not being treated as such. I would like to reiterate that, if you are a B2C business with a service on offer or a product to sell your social media accounts will become more and more important as far as customer service. Give each conversation the time it deserves imagine that perso

The New Age of Customer Service

Small Businesses listen up! If you aren’t utilising social media for your customer service it’s about time you did! You can deliver this via many channels and numerous ways, according to the type of business or service you provide. Check out the following for some tips! 1. Once you have had dealings with a customer or client – how about dropping them a direct tweet (@joebloggs) saying thank you for their custom or to ask how they are finding your product or service. You will

To mute or ot to mute that is the question..

Well, not really. My question is actually, What is the point of mute on Twitter?’ As far as I can see, you are still following that person, you can still interact with that person but instead, if you mute them you just don’t see their tweets. Ok – they don’t know this right? So what’s the big deal?… Isn’t that like saying ‘You bore me’ or ‘I need to follow you (for whatever reason) but really not interested in what you have to say’ or ‘I want you to follow me, but I’m not bot
Do you use ‘bespoke’ in your web copy?…

Do you use ‘bespoke’ in your web copy?…

I’m not at all keen on the word bespoke. It’s completely overused and mostly…out of context. ‘We use an array of bespoke tools to capture your audience online’ ‘Plan your bespoke wedding day with us and make it a day to remember’ “Your bespoke offers provide discounts from some of the biggest brands.” I’m not a great fan of word fashion either, but there’s no getting a way from a ‘buzz word’ unfortunately.  But, for the sake of humanity, may I suggest if you are using ‘bespok

    Exercise Your Online Smile

Picture this. You’re sat in your friends front room with a coffee and they are reminiscing on their recent holiday. Where they stayed, what they ate, who they met, what they liked and disliked. If you’re lucky enough, you may get to sit through a tirade of holiday snaps. Ahem. Smile cemented, eyes bright, cheeks slightly achy, you sound interested, ask an appropriate question every now and then and compliment them no end on what a lovely time they must have had. This doesn’t

    PRODUCT REVIEW: I HEART protocol

“One of the fastest growing British beauty companies worldwide. We all use a Twitter standard DM time to time right? The ethos behind mine is to determine whether my followers are interested in the music/events side of things or the Digital PR.  It helps me awfully when I am engaging with my tweeps. (Yes I do engage,  A lot – what’s the point of them being there if you don’t!?) A certain Mr James Greenwell of @ProtocolUK replied with an offer a girl couldn’t refuse: “Would yo

How Important is your Domain Name in Business?

As mentioned yesterday, your business name/domain name could be the only thing that is holding you back from getting the traffic you need to succeed online. I have spoken with brand experts who believe that names should be almost a blank canvas, in which to build the image of your business upon.  Some swear by a coined name that are made up of ‘halves of words joined together. I believe that any name can be fabulous, as long as it is justified with an appropriate marketing st
