To mute or ot to mute that is the question..

Updated: Mar 10, 2020

Well, not really.

My question is actually, What is the point of mute on Twitter?’

As far as I can see, you are still following that person, you can still interact with that person but instead, if you mute them you just don’t see their tweets. Ok – they don’t know this right? So what’s the big deal?…

Isn’t that like saying ‘You bore me’ or ‘I need to follow you (for whatever reason) but really not interested in what you have to say’ or ‘I want you to follow me, but I’m not bothered about you’..blah blah Ok they don’t know, but have some self respect or be frank about why you’re following them!

If everyone had ‘reason lists’ for why they were following someone (professionally, personally) surely the use of this feature would be reduced? You would engage with certain lists only and ignore the other ones? And, it may just somehow, stop the ‘I need as many followers as possible’ mindset, the ‘reaching out to masses of people at once attitude’ and encourage better, stronger, quality relationships with individuals that matter – for whatever reason.

Just Saying.
