Accompanying these on the menu, a quintessential British selection; Smoked Ham Hock Fritters, Steak or Fish and Chips etc. of which we sampled the Half Pint Prawns served with Pumpernickel Bread and the Crispy Soft Shell Crab, served with a Chili, Apple and Fennel Salad. Delicious.
The impressive cocktail list offers an inspiring choice of fruity, fragrant pick-me-ups, with most ingredients prepared in house, such as; The Sri Lankan Arrack Punch and the intense Martahini, which contains their Tahini infused Grey Goose Vodka and you simply have to try the after dinner classic, Coffee Martini with a cinnamon twist.
It’s safe to say our palettes were taken on a journey from start to finish. Each dish complimented the next, a feat in itself, the staff were friendly, knowledgable and attentive and we left the historic building full and very, very happy.
If the purpose was for the bar to appear seemingly separate from the Marriot hotel, then in my opinion they have succeeded.
A Mayfair must.
