Little Nan’s Bar, Deptford @Littlenansbar

I was itching with excitement when I came across this little jewel of Deptford, SE8.. For those that have been stuck under a rock, Little Nan has opened up her secret living room in The Bunker Club on Deptford Broadway (bless her) as a bar and location venue, serving loads of brilliant cocktails and served in a way, only Little Nan could.

I was instantly sucked in to the concept and to top it off, as an online marketing geek, I was overwhelmed to learn that Little Nan herself actually tweets! She calls everyone dears and loves a party. Reminds me of my dear old nan.

The bar looks exactly like your nans living room and the attention to detail is remarkable.  Tristan, (the owner and little nans grandson) will make you feel welcome and lure you into trying a “Queen Victoria; Earl Grey infused gin topped up with tonic and loads of fresh lemon juice” or a “Little Nan Loves You; 103 yr old recipe, hot sweet spiced mulled apple juice served with Captain Morgan spiced rum “.

Before you know it, you’re dancing like a loony to Michael Jackson’s “Rock with You” and telling everyone you love them.

My kind of night. Ahem.

They run vintage clothes and cake sales at the weekend, have live art shows and lots of other brilliant events so my dears…if you are south of the River and want to know what the cool folk are doing…get yourself down here and have some fun!
