Good control is self care and aids emotional growth. It oozes from a ballerina or a pilot when landing a plane. It’s knowing when to cut your losses, learning when to keep quiet, not falling into the temptation trap, turning down the oven to avoid burning the chicken or Spanx.
Bad control is not knowing when or how but saying you do anyway. It’s an anger feeder and an ego eater. It promotes loneliness and is born mostly from narcissism, insecurity and fear of losing the plot.
Perhaps the pungent smell of threat lingers in the air and the one thing you yearn for most is out of your reach, slipping through your fingers but still, you keep hanging on in there even when your spent.
Learn the difference. It could be the making of you.
