Margate Soul Festival is Kent’s signature soul music event held in and around the picturesque harbour adjacent to the sands of Margate beach. Taking place annually on the first weekend of August, the event features over 50 DJ’s playing more than 40 hours of music from Friday 2pm through to Monday 4am. It offers a unique combination of large scale outdoor live shows, family friendly street performances, DJ led carnival street parties and the most eclectic mix of after 8pm club life, spread across multiple venues.

Since its launch in 2002, the event has expanded with a foundation of loyal aficionados returning and a steady string of new friends joining year after year. It has played host to the likes of Norman Jay MBE, Joey Negro, Gordon Mac, Dr Bob Jones and live acts such as Roy Ayers, Omar, Kenny Thomas and to mention only a few.
